It will be a great honor for me, to stand right here at the stage in front of you to give a speech about independence by the title – Independence of the Youth Generation – in this Independence Day.

Ladies and gentlemen.

Are we truly independence? This is the big question in my mind.
Independence on August 17, 1945, was the result of the unity of hundreds of thousands of people from various tribes and religions who fought and sacrificed together against and expel the invaders for the establishment of a united, solid state and free to choose its own choice. But today is not 1945 anymore. National Heroes fought by sharpened bamboo in 1945 but today, we as the next generation fight by pens and the computers and also fill it with development in every sector. Because I think, the most important aspect of independence is how do we fill with positive activities and energies as the youth generation to appreciate all of the national heroes who died on the battlefield in 1945.

Independence means freedom from any power and pressure. As a youth generation, independence is freedom of expression, free of opinion, not hindered by anything, free to make choices. That’s what I think about true independence. There are many positive effects of independence. The first, the welfare of the people, prosperity, fair and flat because all can express their opinions.

Back to the first question. Are we truly independence? My answer is no! We aren’t. We have not been free from poverty and corruption. So we must keep fighting for that. We must fight for independence!

Independence also means that all parties can live in harmony without any disagreement and also feel secure. But behind all the freedom and peace that exists, independence also becomes a responsibility where not only ourselves are allowed to feel free, but “liberate” others as well.

I hope this speech will be useful to us. Thank you for your attention. The last thing I will say: Life is too short but our journey is still too long. Don’t stay on your bed and don’t be lazy. Do your best to fill independence with positive activities because independence must be maintained!

Assalamualaikum wr. wb. Selamat pagi.

Yang terhormat, Kepala Sekolah SMA Negeri 1, semua guru dan staf administrasi SMA Negeri 1, dan semua teman yang saya sayangi.

Sebelum saya mulai berpidato hari ini, saya ingin mengundang Anda untuk mengucapkan terima kasih kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Esa yang telah memberi kita masing-masing rahmat dan berkat, sehingga kita dapat bertemu bersama dalam hari besar ini di tempat yang indah. Dan saya juga memberikan sholawat dan salam kepada Nabi Muhammad SAW, yang telah membawa kita dari kegelapan ke jalan yang terang, jadi kita selalu berada di jalan yang benar.
